Good point about the fuel bowl and the float. No, there is no discoloration or corrosion in this part of the carb. I suspect that the slide is a strange alloy; maybe even magnesium!? I wonder if an iquirery/letter to MUKUNI is in order?

OH boy, yes steel wool pieces--abrasives or metal dust will certainly gall the slide. I remember trying to polish or sand soft material pieces so that they would loosen up in their mating part assembly. This is definitely a no no! The soft material gets charged with particles and the more one polishes the tighter the clearance gets........
